The authors of self-determination theory are E.L. Deci and M.Ryan (2000). This theory is based on the concept of combining innate needs and influences of others and social environment on person’s motivation. The basis of this assumption is that people have innate tendency to develop their constructive self, leading to increasingly differentiating and holistic perception, which than results in increased autonomy within oneself but also with other individuals. This is a basic human tendency – that is to involve which consists of three psychological components – competence, relatedness, autonomy. The tendency towards this involvement, growth can only be fulfilled in favorable social context.
